The Deutsche Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) facility in Hamburg, Germany is a world-leading accelerator center and member of the Helmholtz Association. DESY develops and operates large particle accelerators, employed in investigating the structure of matter. Its broad, internationally oriented research spectrum is based on three main areas: accelerator development, construction and operation; photon science; and particle and astroparticle physics.
