Helmholtz Institute Jena supports the worldwide initiative “March for Science” on April 22nd, 2017, and endorses the appeal of the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research.
All scientists and citizens are called upon to speak up for their conviction that scientifically founded facts are indispensable for public dialogue.
Therefore, the freedom of science, research and teaching, as well as the freedom of speech tolerance towards those of different opinions need to be preserved as precious assets of our educated society. This also includes the free exchange between scientists of different nations.
We therefore would like to encourage you to join the “March for Science” in Jena on 22nd April 2017, starting at 10.00 a.m. (or a parallel event organized by the “March for Science” initiative).
